X.comFrom Chained to a Second Chance
When we first met Dan, he was padlocked to a heavy chain – a chain he had worn around his neck for so long that it had become a part of him, embedded deep within the skin of his scruff. We broke the chain to free him and rushed him to our Veterinary Hospital, where our team performed surgery to remove the chain and begin treating his painful wounds.
Now safe in our care, Dan's journey is far from over. Beyond the physical scars, he carries deep emotional wounds, too. He's learning what it means to be safe, cared for and loved – things he may have never experienced before, or at least not for a long time.
We don't know if we can help Dan overcome his past and learn to live alongside people. But we're going to try. Will you help us show him that the world is full of kindness?

Care requirements include surgery to remove embedded chain, neuter surgery, vaccinations, antibiotics, pain medication, behavioural consultations, follow up veterinary care and daily care until Dan is ready for adoption.
If the amount raised for Dan exceeds his cost of care, funds will help other animals in need.
