Misty’s journey to us started as a stray, wandering alone and in need of care. At first, our team thought this young girl might be expecting kittens because her mammary glands were so enlarged. But after a closer look, we discovered the real cause: a condition called Mammary Hyperplasia.
This condition, triggered by hormones, is not usually painful on its own, but it puts Misty at high risk for infection and other complications if left untreated. The solution is to spay her, which will stop the hormonal stimulation and allow her body to return to normal. With surgery and careful follow-up care, Misty has the chance to live a healthy, happy life without the threat of this condition (or an unexpected litter!)
