Though she be but little, she is fierce!
Mariam arrived at AARCS with a swollen, abscessed face following an attempted quill removal. The quill injuries also caused a condition called corneal edema, in which her cornea is hazy from fluid buildup.
Our veterinary team got Mariam into surgery right away to remove as many quills as possible and clean up the infected tissue. Now, she's on antibiotics and pain medications to help her heal. We are hopeful that her eye will recover with treatment, but if the damage is too severe, she may still lose her eye.
Her painful condition hasn't stopped this mischevious pup from bringing joy and laughter to all who meet her. Now, it's your chance to step up and help her see a brighter future. Please consider a donation today to support Mariam's recovery!
Email updates showing Mariam's progress will be provided to those who donate towards her care.
Care requirements include quill removal surgery, antibiotics, pain medication, follow up veterinary care and daily care until Mariam is ready for adoption.
If the amount raised for Mariam exceeds her cost of care, funds will help other animals in need.
Please note that when donating to more than one animal, your credit card may be flagged for unusual activity. We recommend waiting a few minutes between transactions to prevent this error. Thank you for your patience!
