We first met Rocky in rough condition: his face was severely abscessed with infection after someone attempted to remove embedded quills. We got him into surgery to remove any remaining quills and begin to clean up the damage to his face.
Now, he's on antibiotics and pain medication to help his body fight the infection and keep him comfortable. Sadly, we won't be able to save his damaged eye – but he's in such bad shape that we can't remove it yet, either. The tissue is necrotic, meaning it's too fragile to withstand surgery. He needs time for the medications to do their job before he'll be ready to face this procedure and have his best chance at recovery.
Despite it all, Rocky is a friendly boy who is eager for affection. This brave boy deserves a chance at a pain-free life. Your gift today will help turn his journey from a rocky road to a tail of hope!
Email updates showing Rocky's progress will be provided to those who donate towards his care.
Care requirements include quill removal surgery, antibiotics, pain medication, enucleation surgery, follow up veterinary care and daily care until Rocky is ready for adoption.
If the amount raised for Rocky exceeds his cost of care, funds will help other animals in need.
