In the short time we've known her, sweet little Frankie has been exceptionally brave! She made a BIG journey all the way from the NWT to get to AARCS, and she arrived unable to put weight on her hind leg.
Our veterinary team gave her a thorough exam, and x-rays revealed a fracture of the growth plate between the femoral head and neck. To heal, Frankie will need a Femoral Head Osteotomy (FHO) — a specialized surgery where the damaged ball of her hip joint is removed so her body can form a new, pain-free pseudo-joint. It’s a common procedure with wonderful outcomes, but she can’t get there without a little help.
Can you help little Frankie get the surgery she needs to grow up strong and pain-free? Your donation today will help her get back to enjoying puppyhood!
Email updates showing Frankie's progress will be provided to those who donate towards her care.
Care requirements include x-rays, FHO surgery, pain medications, spay surgery, vaccinations, follow-up veterinary care and daily care until Frankie is ready for adoption.
If the amount raised for Frankie exceeds her cost of care, funds will help other animals in need.
Please note that when donating to more than one animal, your credit card may be flagged for unusual activity. We recommend waiting a few minutes between transactions to prevent this error. Thank you for your patience!
