In April 2024, our friends at the Canadian Animal Task Force (CATF) headed out to a community for a spay/neuter clinic to assist with population control for a colony of cats. They managed to complete surgeries on a significant number of cats, making an invaluable difference to the community by preventing further overpopulation!

Unfortunately, several of the cats were too sick to undergo surgery, and CATF reached out to AARCS for help. We took in five of these cats, all extremely sick with nasty ear infections and Upper Respiratory Infections. Most of the five are feral, making the job a little spicy for our veterinarians and technologists!

With bite gloves on and soothing words, our team started all five of the sick cats on medications, and the kitties are living in isolation while we work to get the infections under control. They will all be vaccinated, dewormed and spayed or neutered once they are healthy again. The friendly cats will go on to find loving families, while the feral cats will be finding loving barn homes to spend the rest of their days at!

These kitties are relying on the kindness of strangers to alleviate their suffering. Can you show them that even feral cats deserve compassion?

Email updates showing the sick cats' progress will be provided to those who donate towards their care.

Care requirements include repeated veterinary examinations for all five cats, medications for all five cats, personal protective equipment for our staff, an isolation room and spay/neuter surgeries, as well as daily care until the cats are ready for the next step in their journey.

If the amount raised for these sick cats exceed the cost of their care, funds will help other animals in need.

Please note that when donating to more than one animal fundraiser, your credit card may be flagged for unusual activity. We recommend waiting a few minutes between transactions to prevent this error. Thank you for your patience!
