Introducing Stout the sweet! This handsome young lad came into AARCS care following the first Canadian Animal Task Force (CATF) spay and neuter clinic of 2024.

Stout has a dislocated elbow after being vicously attacked by other dogs and he is in obvious pain: he cannot put any weight on the injured leg and is visibly uncomfortable. Despite this, Stout is a lovable pup! He greets everyone with sparkling eyes and tail wags.

Our veterinary team attempted to put Stout's elbow back in place, but it has been dislocated for a while and we were unfortunately unsuccessful. Now, in order to relieve his pain and help him begin his healing journey, we will be amputating the injured leg.

It's a heartbreaking decision, but Stout deserves to have the freedom to move and play without pain. Can you help this young, happy dog get back on his feet and learn to live the tri-pawd life? Your support will make all the difference in Stout's journey to a pain-free and fulfilling life!

Email updates showing Stout's progress will be provided to those who donate towards his care. Read more of Stout's story here and his first email update here!

Care requirements include pre- and post-operative x-rays, amputation surgery, pain management medications and daily care until Stout is ready for adoption.

If the amount raised for Stout exceeds his cost of care, funds will help other animals in need.

Please note that when donating to more than one animal, your credit card may be flagged for unusual activity. We recommend waiting a few minutes between transactions to prevent this error. Thank you for your patience!
