When two-year-old Hollywood came into our care, it was obvious that she was in rough shape. She was suffering from painful, itchy scabbing and hair loss on her head, chin, ears, paws, belly, and around her bum, and her skin is thickened and darkened from chronic irritation. She's clearly been uncomfortable for a long time.
Tests ruled out mites, but swabs showed both yeast and bacterial infections on her skin and in both ears. Her lymph nodes are slightly enlarged – likely because her body is working overtime trying to fight off the infections. At this time, we believe an underlying allergy is likely the main cause, with infections developing from the constant itching and scratching.
Hollywood is now on multiple treatments to relieve her symptoms and help her heal, but she’ll need continued care for quite some time to get her healthy and comfortable. We'll also need to figure out what is causing the reaction.

Care requirements include antibiotics, antifungal medications, topical skin treatment, ear drops, hypoallergenic diet, steroid itch relief and daily care until Hollywood finds her forever home.
