Fundraiser Profile Image

Bear is a brave little Chihuahua mix, around a year old, who came into our care after an unknown trauma left him in serious shape. While his backstory remains a mystery, what we discovered during his intake was alarming: a rash covered his chest and abdomen, and a strange bump on his side turned out to be a body wall hernia with his kidney herniated through. Yes, his kidney.

Despite his tiny size and painful condition, Bear has shown incredible resilience – and a big personality! He's been placed on pain medication, had bloodwork done, received laser therapy to reduce inflammation, and is under close veterinary supervision. Our biggest concern was ensuring his digestive system remained functional, and thankfully, this tough guy has kept everything moving.

Now, Bear needs surgery to repair his hernia. This procedure will give him the chance to recover fully and one day find a loving home.

Can you help this tiny dog get the big surgery he needs for a fresh start? Every donation will help him on his journey to recovery!

Email updates showing Bear's progress will be provided to those who donate towards his care.

Care requirements include x-rays, ultrasound, bloodwork, laser therapy, body wall hernia repair, pain medications, follow up veterinary care and daily care until Bear finds his forever home.

If the amount raised for Bear exceeds his cost of care, funds will help other animals in need.
