Sweet Karina has been through more hardship than any dog should ever know. When she first came into our care, it was clear that she had been suffering for some time. Previous quill injuries were left untreated, leading to the rupture of one of her eyes. Our veterinary team rushed her into emergency surgery to remove the damaged eye, sparing her from further pain.
As if that weren’t enough, Karina is fighting an infection in her remaining eye, along with both hookworms and roundworms that are causing her gastrointestinal distress. Her head is also misshapen, likely from trauma in her past – though x-rays don't show any obvious fractures. Despite everything she’s endured, Karina is beginning to open up. Each day she takes small, brave steps toward trust, comfort and the hope of a brighter future.

Care requirements include enucleation surgery, spay surgery, post-operative care, antibiotic eye drops, deworming treatment, pain medications, x-rays, vaccinations, follow up veterinary care and daily care until Karina is ready for adoption.
If the amount raised for Karina exceeds her cost of care, funds will help other animals in need.
