Our precious Pearl is facing an unexpected medical challenge. Pearl recently became very sick and stopped eating, and we knew something was wrong.
X-rays revealed that one of her kidneys had become alarmingly large – a sudden change since her spay surgery. With the help of our friends at the Canadian Animal Task Force, we borrowed an ultrasound machine to get a closer look. The findings confirmed what we feared: Pearl’s kidney is dangerously enlarged and urgently needs to be removed.
This type of surgery, called a nephrectomy, is complex and requires a skilled hand. That’s why we’ve called on the incredible Dr. Jill Johnson, who has bravely tackled surgeries like this before. Dr. Johnson has been a trusted partner for big surgeries, and we’re so grateful for her expertise and support.
Pearl’s surgery is critical, but it comes with a significant cost. Can you help us get Pearl the surgery she needs to save her life?
Email updates showing Pearl's progress will be provided to those who donate towards her care.
Care requirements include x-rays, ultrasound, nephrectomy surgery, pain management, follow-up veterinary appointments and daily care until Pearl is ready for adoption.
If the amount raised for Pearl exceeds her cost of care, funds will help other animals in need.
Please note that when donating to more than one animal, your credit card may be flagged for unusual activity. We recommend waiting a few minutes between transactions to prevent this error. Thank you for your patience!
