Sweet Smooches

Meet Smooches, a lovely 2-year-old mama cat who has been busy caring for her four adorable 6-week-old kittens. While Smooches has done an incredible job with her little ones, she’s battling a painful condition called eosinophilic granuloma complex – commonly known as "rodent ulcers." These ulcers have severely affected her mouth, making it difficult for her to eat and feel comfortable.

We’ve started Smooches on a course of steroids, which should help the ulcers heal over the next several weeks. However, the exact cause of this condition is still unknown. Some studies suggest that it might be linked to an allergic response. Despite the discomfort she’s experiencing, Smooches continues to be a lovable girl! We’re committed to ensuring she gets the care she needs to feel better and get ready to find her forever home once she is healed.

Care requirements include steroids, veterinary follow ups, vaccinations, spay surgery and daily care until Smooches is ready for adoption.
