Taco is a sweet but nervous pup who came into our care through a spay/neuter clinic with the Canadian Animal Task Force. What should have been a routine procedure turned into something more – Taco was limping and clearly in pain.
X-rays revealed a serious issue with her hip, likely a chronic fracture or a painful condition called aseptic necrosis. To fix it, Taco needs a femoral head osteotomy (FHO), a surgery that will remove the damaged part of her hip and allow her muscles to form a pain-free pseudo joint. Because her injury is chronic, meaning it has been there for a long time, we are sending her to a specialist to ensure she gets top-notch care.
Without the surgery, Taco would continue to suffer. With it, she’ll have the chance to run, play and live the happy life she deserves. Can you help her realize a pain-free future?
